Start times may be ch= anged once all entries have been received. Teams will be notified of exact times by e-mail and they will be pos= ted on the website meet information.<= o:p>

Two (2) heats (top 16) will return to finals session in the 11 & 12 age group. Consolation and Championship Finals will be swum in that order. 1000 free, 1650 free, 500 free and= 400 IM and all relays are timed final events.

Individuals swimming the 1650 free,= 500 free, 1000 free and 400IM are responsible for providing their own counter a= nd two timers.

FACILITY

Salem State College O'Keefe Center, 25 yard, 8 lane, 7 foot wide with non-turbule= nt lane lines, Paragon starting blocks, Colorado electronic timing system with touch pads and eight line scoreboard. Limited = seating for 250 spectators and on deck bleacher seating for 300 swimmers and coache= s.

SCRATCHES

A scratch box will be located on the pool deck for the 11-12 Events. Scratch deadlines for Friday, Satu= rday and Sunday prelim events will be by 6:00 pm the night before. Scratches for Friday only may be m= ade by phone to (978)-852-3985 until 6:00 pm Thursday, February 23, 2006. All Thur= sday Evening events will be a POSITIVE check-in by 5:00 pm at the Clerk of Cours= e on deck.

Scratches for the 10 & U afternoon sessions must be turned in to the timing table 30 minutes before the start of the session using the team scratch sheets provided.

SPECIAL SCRATCH NOTES (for 11-12 Swimmers)

1. Any swimmer who fails = to compete in an individual event heat in which he/she is entered and has not = been scratched will be barred from further competition for that day, including relays and time trials. The s= wimmer will be also automatically scratched from the following day’s events unless the clerk of course has been notified of the swimmers intention to compete by 6:00pm. NOTE: Finals are considered continuation of events starting with trials.

2. Any swimmer who compet= es in an individual heat and qualifies for Championship Finals or Consolations and fails to notify the meet referee of his/her intention to withdraw from the finals within 30 minutes of the announcement of the results and qualifiers = for that event, and does not compete nor is excused by the meet referee, will be barred from all subsequent competition in the meet, including relays and ti= me trials.

3. All relay, 500 Free, 400IM, 1000 Free, 1650 Free events must confirm = their intention to participate with a positive check-in. = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; =

RELAY CARDS

Must be submitted to the clerk of course by the beginning of the relay warm-ups = or if there are no relay warm-ups then by the conclusion of the last individual event. No changes to the composition of the relay or order of the relay swimmers may be made after s= ubmission of relay cards to the clerk of course, except for medical or other excuse approved by the meet referee.

ELIGIBILITY

All contestants must = be 2006 USA Swimming registered athletes. All swimmers must be registered before= the entry is submitted. Teams that enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregiste= red swimmer. New England teams entering the meet are encouraged to check their entries with the online registration check tool on the New England Swimming= web site. Please contact the New England Swimming Office for registration information. Age eligibility is determined by t= he age of the swimmer the first day of the meet and must be shown on the entry form.

ENTRY INFORMATION

No swimmer may swim more than 9 individual events (11 –12 maximum of 3 events per day). All relay sw= immers must be listed on the official entry form. Relays are not limited but only 2 relays per club can score. En= tries must be received by Monday, February 20^th by 5:00pm. E-mail entries will be accepted an= d must be received by the original cutoff date and a check and hard copy received = by Wednesday, February 22^nd &= nbsp; 2006. . If mailing, United States Postal Service Overnight Mail meth= od is to be used. Indicate th= at the package can be delivered even if no one is there to sign for it. No fax entries will be accepted. All= fees must accompany entry. If subm= itting entry on a disk a hard copy is still required and must also accompany the d= isk. If you e-mail the entry a hard cop= y and check for the appropriate fee must be received by the date listed above in order to be accepted.

QUALIFYING TIMES:

Entry times must be achieved between February 11, 2005 and February= 20, 2006. The meet will be seeded= in the following order, SCY, SCM, LCM.

VERIFICATION

All Entries must include verification codes. There will be a verification table at= 12 & Under Age Group Championships. At this meet teams must submit to the verification table a copy of their meet entry with verification of all times indicated. Teams must also include a copy of any non-New England calendar meet results used for entry times. Results will be reviewed by New England Swimming. Any swimmer unable to verify entry time will be barred from the rest of the mee= t. If several swimmers from one team are unable to verify entry times the swim= mers and the coach may be banned from the remainder of the meet.

RULES

2006 US Swimming rules will govern except as otherwise stated herein and the decision of the referee will be final. Disabled swimmer forms are require= d by US Swimming and are available from the NE Swimming office.

CONCESSION / VENDOR

A refreshment area will be on hand with many favorites at a reasonable cost. A swim vendor will also be on hand to take care of your swim needs.

ADMISSION AND PROGRAMS

Admission $1.00 per session, Programs $2.00 per Session.

TIME TRIALS:

Will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allow= s. Time trials are $5.00= per Individual events and $20.00 per relay.

SAFETY:

1.&n= bsp; Diving will= be prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way sprint lanes.

2.&n= bsp; No shaving = is permitted at the competition site.

3.&n= bsp; No glass containers are permitted within the facility.

4.&n= bsp; Swimmers mu= st be under the supervision of a coach. If a swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify the referee before he/she warms up.= The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for warm-u= ps.

5.&n= bsp; No camera c= ell phones are permitted in the locker rooms.

OFFICIALS AND TIMERS

In accordance with standard NE Championship procedures, all teams entering the meet must provide a prorated share of officials and timers and other requir= ed personnel. Work assignments w= ill be based on the number entries per team. Teams will be informed of their assignments prior to the meet. The <= span class=3DGramE>officials coordinator for this meet will be Paul Burkhardt (paul.burkhardt@hp.com).

Any official interested in helping at the meet should contact Paul.

Officials who sign up by the meet deadline(February 20) wi= ll be included in the number of workers when team work assignments are done.=

AWARDS

All swimmers will receive a commemorative pin from NE Swimming that may be pick= ed up with the coaches packet. Medals will be awarded for the fir= st 8 places in individual events and first 3 places in relays. Ribbons for 9-16 places individual and 4-8 relays. These awards will be presented throughout the meet as time allows.

Plaques will be awarded to the individual high point winners for both boys and girls for the first eight places for each age group. Awards will be given for combined 12 &= U Team High Point places 1-8.

OTHER MEET NOTES

Coaches are expected to understand the scratch, verification and relay rules before= the meet begins. All coaches shou= ld check-in at the timing table on the pool deck upon arrival. Coach’s packets will be avai= lable at the beginning of the warm-up session from the timing table.

Coaches are responsible for the behavior of their swimmers at all times. Any damage to the premises or equi= pment is the responsibility of those doing the damage. Swimmers and spectators are restri= cted to the pool, spectator areas and locker rooms. No smoking is permitted inside the facility. North Shore Swim Club, NE Swimming and Salem State College will n= ot assume responsibility for lost or stolen articles.

Please do not ask to change entry times or events after the entry deadline. No deck entries will be accepted.<= o:p>

DECK ACCESS:

Only Athletes, coaches, officials and official meet staff are permitted on the p= ool deck. All non-athletes on the pool deck must display their USS swimming registration card at all times. Individuals without their USS swimming card will be removed from the pool deck and will be subject to a fine by New Eng= land Swimming.
