COURSE:
Long course meters (50 meters)
FORMAT:
The meet will be swum as timed finals. Each session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each session. Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session. Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck. Copies of heat and lane assignments will be given to coaches. Swimmers should report directly to the blocks for their events. Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane. Chase starts from both ends of the pool will be used unless designated otherwise. Only the 200 free and events 400 meters or longer may be swum 2 per lane. If swimming two per lane, the swimmers start the first heat on the right and then the second heat starts 15 seconds later on the left. Swimmers must provide their own timer for events 400 yards or longer
All heats of the 1500 or 800 Freestyles will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys. Girls and boys may be combined if that requires fewer heats. 15-O,13-14 and 11-12 year old swimmers will be combined into heats for efficiency if deemed necessary by meet management. Swimmers must provide their own timer for events 400 and longer that are at the end of a session.
EVENTS: See attached list
CUT PROTOCOL: If the entire meet, or a session, is over-subscribed, the following cuts will be made in this order:
· Teams may be shifted to another site in order to evenly distribute the swimmers.
· 2 per lane may be used if necessary in the 400, 800 and 1500 freestyle distance events.
· Events 400 and longer may be cut by time
· Events 200 and longer may be cut by time
Clubs will be notified of cuts 7 days before the start of the meet, and will be refunded the entry fees.
RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES: The meet referee reserves the right to make any adjustments to the provisions of the meet announcement deemed necessary to ensure the fair and efficient running of the meet, with the prior approval of the Technical Chair, Mariella Allard.
MEET COMMITTEE: The meet committee should be made up of the Meet Director, Meet Referee, two coaches, and one athlete. The five members should be from separate teams.

PARKING: Parking in Cambridge and Boston is generally not an enjoyable experience. Whenever possible, park your car at the hotel at which you are staying, and use public transportation to get to the MIT campus. If you must drive to the campus, there are both on- and off-street parking available, but most public parking is not very close to the center of the MIT campus (unless you arrive early in the morning or late in the evening).
There is metered parking on Massachusetts Avenue. There are a number of lots at which you may park for a fee. These include a lot at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street, "Park and Lock" on Third Street, "Kinney Systems" at 4 Cambridge Center (entrances on Ames Street and Broadway), and "Kinney Systems" at Ten Cambridge Center (entrances from Broadway and Binney Street).
AREA LODGING: Host hotel is the Cambridge Hyatt. Guests can make their room reservations by calling our toll-free Reservations number, (800) 233-1234, and referring to the North Shore Swim Club room block. Link to hotel information: Hyatt Cambridge
